The research on the relation between parental employment status and their educational expectation and employment expectation of their children in urban China.

Education has an important influence on the development of people life and work.Parents' education expectations and career expectations of their children are related to children's education result,it has important significance to prevent poverty transmission of intergenerational family .Parents' education expectations and career expectations of their children is influenced by the family's economic capital, cultural capital, social capital and family culture, and these factors are closely related with their parents' employment.At present China's lowest living security system still exist some shortcomings , there are a lot of members have labor ability but do not work, this tendency is likely transform the negative impaction of the family economic capital, cultural capital, social capital and family culture to the negative impaction of their children's education expectations and career expectations.This study focuses on whether the effect is real, and attempts to cause society's further attention to lowest living security familymembers have labor ability but do not work , because it not only affect themselves, also affect the next generation, thereby increasing the risk of intergenerational poverty transfer.Results show parents work or not, father's job category,parents education level, parents' marital status, whether lowest living security families, children's gender and age,these variables significant associated with urban family parents' education expectations of their children;Parents work or not, mother's education level ,whether lowest living security families, children's age ,these variables significant associated with urban family parents' career expectations of their children.
